What Actually Happens On A Hot Lap

Strap into the passenger seat of a supercar and get ready for the experience of a lifetime.

You’ll check in at Race Control, show your proof of age, sign the passenger waiver and make your way over to the garages. There you’ll be fitted with a helmet and safety gear and run through a short briefing with our team. When your session is called, you’re walked to your car and strapped into the passenger seat next to an experienced driver who will take you for some very fast laps.

Then they go full noise, full commitment, hard braking around the track, showing you the full capability of their supercar. It’s about four to six minutes from the moment you leave pit lane. Expect the adrenalin to be running through your veins, and expect to get out with a massive smile.

Safety is taken seriously and managed end to end by experienced staff. Passenger numbers are limited per session, every car is safety scrutineered and every driver is vetted and licensed. The whole event runs under an AASA motorsport licence, and the track is managed with a qualified Clerk of Course, in partnership with WASCC.

Why We're Doing This

Motormall is a family owned WA business with more than 120 staff and tens of thousands of customers a year. This state has been very good to us, and Telethon is the charity that gets it done for WA kids.

So we asked a simple question. What if we opened up the supercars, opened up the track, and let everyday people have the drive of their life for a cause that matters?

That’s Supercar Sunday. Proceeds from the event go to Telethon, supporting sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and their families right across Western Australia.

Come for the cars. Stay because it counts.

Held two weeks out from Telethon Weekend on 17 and 18 October, this is Perth’s loudest way to kick off the biggest fundraising weekend of the year.

No. You’re a passenger, not the driver. An experienced driver takes the wheel. You just need to be able to get in and out of a low sports car and follow the safety briefing.

Yes. All passengers must be at least 14 years old on the day. This applies to supercar hot laps and drift car rides, with no exceptions. You will need to show proof of age at check in.

If you are going for a hot lap you must wear long sleeves, long pants and fully enclosed shoes. If you have your own helmet you’re welcome to bring it, otherwise one will be provided for you.
You can nominate a preference at check-in and we’ll do our best, but cars are allocated on the day based on availability and session scheduling. Every car in the fleet is worth the ride.
Please arrive and check in at Race Control a minimum of 45 minutes before your session time, to complete all the relevant paperwork.

Absolutely. Under 14s enter free with a paying adult, and there is a dedicated kids’ zone, bouncy castles, food trucks and the FMX show. They just can’t ride in a car unless they’re 14.
